Puppies and Girls

My Favorite Things newest stamps are now in stock. I was playing with the sets Friends Furever and Gone To The Dogs. There are so many cute puppies to play with.

I took the bone from Friends Furever and inked all but the little hanger part. I use Brilliance Graphite Black Dew Drop Ink Pad when I am using Copic Markers. I have found that if I use Coconut Swirl Smoothies paper with the ink, the ink will dry quickly. I don't like waiting and when I heat set it, it always curls up, which is so annoying. I took a marker and filled in where the hanger part was.

I was surfing blogs the other day and came upon this post "A Green Project" on Jen's blog. I put it in my favorites to come back to it at a later time and try it. I was feeling the need to make something other than a card. So I took the main idea and tweaked it a bit.

Gwenny Holds Pens-

Items needed-

Toilet paper roll, pattern paper, cardboard, scissors, glue, and embellishments.

I took the toilet paper roll and a lightweight chipboard coaster and traced the opening of the roll onto the chipboard. I cut out the circle and inserted it into the roll. I then took pattern paper and measured so that 1/2" of paper would hang over the end. I attached the paper with Mono Multi Liquid Glue. I then snipped the hang over paper at about every 1/2". I folded in the flaps and from the inside of the roll I pressed the chipboard circle down so it is nice and flush with the bottom.

I took a piece of coordinating paper and cut a 1" strip, I attached it to the outside and then snipped it every 1/2". I folded them inwards to give it a nice finished look. I took ribbon and tied it on. I had this image of Gwenny floating around and it just happened to match (I love when that happens) so I mounted her on a piece of the pattern paper and attached it to the roll.

Since the roll is really lightweight I added rice into the bottom.

ETA: I was really scatter brained this morning and forget to tell you all about the Glam Girls. All together there are 3 girls and some fun sayings (as you have seen already). I will be offering the Girls as a complete set that comes in a labeled tin with a stardust pen or you will be able to purchase them and the saying seperately. I will aslo be offering all the pieces wood mounted,but I won't be selling it as a set instead as seperate pieces.

<----------Here are the saying that go with this set.

I had set out to make stick people with puns and funnies to go along with them. One night I googled the Eiffel Tower and there was a pic of a lady looking at the tower with big oval glasses. I drew what I saw but in a cartooney way (that will be Gwenny tomorrow) Gwenny had to have a couple of friends, so Shari was drawn. Shari is so fabulous in her cat eye sunglasses and big bling ring.

C.C. Designs May Stamps Preview

Tomorrow starts the May Stamp Previews. I had alot of fun last month giving away freebies that I will be doing it again this month. The stamp sets that will be giveaway will all be EZ-Foam Mounted not wood.

There are 2 sets, but one of the sets wil also be sold as seperate pieces. There are new monkey sayings. They go perfectly with the Monkey Love set.

This month both sets come in cd tins, the sets are bigger than usually. Since we use the thin black foam you can put the stamps on both the bottom and lid of the tin. You are going to love it!

It's my birthday Stamp Set and countdown

   With it being the 1st Birthday of C.C. Designs I had to do a birthday set. Lulu and Lucky joined in the fun and Monkey had to make an appearance since he is so loved. The DT really out did themselves with this set.

I have been working on people for a very long time almost a year. It never looked right and was redone over and over again. I wanted something different, not thin peoples, I wanted them to have a little meat on their bones. Queenie was drawn first, her face was very circular to start with. Then she grew ears, I wanted the ears so you can add earrings *wink*, plus I think it looks cute.

I wanted the first Queenie to be doing something that all us ladies do, clean. And I don't know about you but I do not like to clean at all!
