Design Team Make it Monday on Sunday- Interior Design

Hi, I'm Jeanne and I am here to show you how very easy it is to use the awesome Cutters dies and stamps from C.C. Designs to add that wonderful finishing touch to your card creations! (and may I just say that the new products coming will just keep making you want to do the inside of your card too...)

So here is a side by side shot of the front and inside of a card and then I will show you the steps to get there.

Before going into the details of the inside, here is what I used on the front of the card, Sweet November's Bloom, Swiss Pixie Woodland Daisy, Be Happy Sentiment Set, Butterfly Border and Leaves Cutter.

Now let's look at how to get the inside of your card done so that it ties in with the front of your card. As you see the steps, keep in mind that I do all of my stamping before I assemble the card..just in case there is a stamping mistake ...could happen :)

After trimming my papers to size I would stamp the flowers from the Spring Has Sprung Set in the two corners and then color them in with whatever you like to use for coloring...for me it is Copic Markers for sure!!

I definitely think one (of my many) favorite Cutter dies from C.C. Designs has been the Butterfly Border which I used here as it is great for just trimming as many butterflies as you need to use. For the inside I just added two to the corner.

Final step before assembling the inside was to add this sentiment from the So Wordy Set, as you will see I like this sentiment as it is great inside many kinds of cards! A wonderful bonus with the C.C. Design sentiment sets is you can always find just the right sentiment for any card you are making and they use so many fabulous fonts on the stamps!!

Here is another example of how you could have done the inside of this same card, also so easy to do and a great way to use up those scrap pieces of paper too!!

For this I used the Butterfly Border to cut three butterflies from it and the sentiment is from the Woodland Logos Set - these sets are awesome for adding the finishing touches to the inside of your cards!!

Here are two teasers of the inside of two other cards just to give you some more ideas. There are so many fun ways that you can complete your wonderful creations with what you do on the inside of it and I am sure you have so many ideas so let your imagination soar as you create!!

This Mushroom Border is so great and I have had much fun using it on the inside of a few cards for sure!! The sentiment is from the Be Happy Sentiment Set ...love their sentiments!!

And on this one I used the very fun Curly Q Border, the Umbrella Cutter and there is that sentiment I like to use from the So Wordy Set again.

I hope this gives you some fun ideas and remember it is so easy to do!! Take some time to browse through the many C.C. Designs Stamps and C.C. Cutters and see all the fun you can have.... Happy Creating!!

April Release Thursday Review...

We are finishing up April with one more review.  It has been a fun month for us and we hope you have enjoyed seeing all that we created.  

Simone used Laugh Lines Garden and the watering can die to make this adorable card.  I love how she used the watering can as a background.  Clever use of a die for sure!

Design Team Make It Monday - Mini Clipboard Tutorial

Hi everyone! Sandra here, and for this week's Make It Monday, I'm sharing a mini clipboard tutorial with you! For my clipboard, I used Butterfly Lucy rubber stamp, Amy R.'s So Wordy sentiment set and the Curly Q die, but you can use any ATS stamp you have on hand. Here's a complete supply list:

Mini Clipboard

12x12 Designer Paper

Sanding Block

Adhesive Glue

Scissors

Stamps

Coloring Medium

Dies, Buttons, Ribbon (Optional)

 

Step 1: Cut your designer paper to size, allowing about 1/8" overhang on all sides. My clipboard (which I found at Staples, but I've seen various ones online) is 6"x9", so I cut my paper to 6-1/4"x9-1/4" in size. Then, to really cover your clipboard, cut a notch around the clip itself. There's a little trial and error involved, so use a pencil (unlike me, who used a pen...which you can't eraser afterwards!). Using your scissors, cut out the notch. You may need to trim it here or there to get an exact fit.

Step 2: Use a good adhesive glue to adhere the designer paper to the clipboard, making sure you apply it to the edges. This is important because when you sand the edges, you don't want the paper lifting off the clipboard. I used Aleene's Tacky Glue, but I've used my glue runner and even a glue stick before and all of the have done the job.

Step 3: Once you've adhered the paper and it's dried, next is the fun (and messy) part! Sanding! You need to sand off the excess paper from the edges, so they clean up. I've tried trimming the paper before, but sanding it really the quickest and easiest way. (Tip: If you don't have a sanding block, try a emery board! Before I got my blocks, that's all I used!) Sand away until there is no more overhang and excess paper. It should look like this once you're done.

Step 4: Time to decorate! Ok, I was just kidding earlier - this is the fun part! As I said before, you can use whatever stamps you have on hand. For my clipboard I colored up Butterfly Lucy with my reinkers and waterbrush and cut her out. I made the grass by trimming the designer paper with my scissors, but it was pain staking! Had I had the C.C. Cutter's Grass Die or the Fringe Scissors in my arsenal, it would have gone a lot faster!

Here's my finished clipboard! Adorable isn't it?? I told my little girl I was making another clipboard and her only instructions to me was to not put anything "bumpy" underneath the paper, because she couldn't draw on it properly! Ha! She knows what she likes! :)

An Apple A Day

 

Hi everybody! It's Patty posting this time. Do you remember that old adage about "An Apple a Day?" I thought of it when I was coloring C.C. Designs Sugarplum Apple Emma. She is so cute and country looking, I think you would just feel better coloring her!

This image is available as a digi and for me that means instant gratification when I buy! I cut my flowers out with the C.C. Designs 5-point flower die. I ran them through my crimper and then I sponged them with a Tim Holtz Walnut distress pad. My center of the the flower is a small black brad and I curled the tips of the flowers.

One of my favorite leaves for accenting flowers is the C.C. Designs Leafy Branch die. I think they look so soft and airy. I did a bit of rummaging and found the little wooden apple button. I popped both my flowers and the image with 3-D foam squares. As usual I colored my image with my beloved Copic markers.

Design Team Make it Monday - Coloring with Promarkers and Flexmarkers...

 

Umbrella Lula and I here to show Promarker and Flexmarker colors...I've colored five skin tones and a variety of colors to hopefully give you an idea of how the colors look and work together.  I haven't colored with these markers very long...I'm still learning for sure! I like them and enjoyed learning to use the chisel tip for covering larger areas and getting in tight places!
