Hi everyone! It's Delphine here to share my first tutorial for All That Scraps! Today I am going to show you how I color Swiss Pixies' hair using Copics, and I've chosen to make it black! The adorable image I am using for this tutorial is Butterfly Lucy from the March Release and the Copics needed for her black hair are C3, 5, 7, 9.

I always colour from darkest to lightest, so I start with my darkest grey, C9, where I want my darkest areas to be.

As you can see, I do not colour the ponytails yet, I focus on the the head itself with the biggest mass of hair. I then use C7, covering my C9 and widening the coloured area. I do not blend, I feather from the edges and follow the movement of the hair.

Using the same technique, I now use C5...

... and C3, and I do not cover the whole area, I leave some space blank for highlights...

To add more depth, I repeat the same steps with my darkest colours, C9 again...

C7 again...

I then add just a little bit of C5, and I now colour the ponytails repeating exactly the same steps I have just described...

And now I can colour the rest of my image...
Voilà, Butterfly Lucy fully colored!

Do you remember blowing on dandelions and watching the little fluffy seeds fly off in the air? It is such a simple joy and a great reminder of the beauty in the world God has freely given us. You might have guessed that this particular Whimsy stamp, called "Dandelion Girl" is one of my favorites! Since I felt this card was reflecting nature I decided to use my new Mushroom Border Die. I am in love with this die and you can create so much deminsion with it. I must admit that I usually grab my Leafy Branch die and Phlox Flowers as my go to and make my card pretty dies, but I know I will be grabbing the Mushroom Border for many cards. A few lacy butterflys with some lovely pearls. I have (oh I am a creature of habit) used my beloved Copics to color my image. You can find all of these products at All That Scraps....an so much more....there are some fabulous new products for March.

Mary J back today with the next installment of my a tutorial for All That Scraps to show you how I coloured in Sweet Ima Butterfly's hair on kraft cardstock using Prismacolor pencils. So here we go...
I use White as the base, again using using light strokes so that the kraft doesn't become "waxy" too soon (oops, ignore the darker colouring on top left of her hair, forgot to take the shot earlier!)...
I now use a different technique when colouring her hair so instead of using a circular motion, I use a 'feathering' technique instead. I start with my lightest colours first, so next I use Burnt Ochre, feathering from the edges into the white space...
I then use Terracotta, again feathering from the edges into the white space...
You can see that I've left quite a lot of white in the middle so that the 'feathered ends' are more visible. I now use Tuscan Red using less strokes but firmer to enhance the feathered look...
Last but not least I use Dark Brown in the very edges where the shadows are to create the depth that you can see in the picture below. The photo also shows how I've used some scrap kraft cardstock to test the colours I've used before I started colouring...

How exciting, it's Mary J here and it's my first time doing a tutorial for All That Scraps! I thought I'd share with you how I colour on kraft cardstock using Prismacolor pencils. I love this technique as it gives a more softer, whimsical feel than alcohol pens on kraft. I will be splitting this tute into two - today I will show you how I do skin tones and tomorrow I will show you how I do hair. So without further ado, on with the tute!
Here I have stamped Sweet Ima Butterfly onto kraft cardstock (I use Bazzill Smoothies). First off, I use Cream as the base. I start off using light strokes with the pencil so that the kraft doesn't become "waxy" too soon as this will make it harder to blend the colours together later on...
I then use Sand around the face, arms and legs, avoiding the areas where the light sources hits the image the most. You can see that I'm not particularly careful colouring closest to the edges at this point...
I then use Peach around the edges keeping to the areas that would be most shaded. You can't see much of the Sand at this point but you can see how it gives a lovely 'glow' under the Peach...
I now begin blending the colours together. I don't use mineral spirits (like Sansodor) when blending on kraft and instead use a lighter coloured pencil. So, here I have used Light Peach with light circular motions to blend the lines between the Sand and Peach. You can see that I've left a lot of the first colour Cream unblended but don't worry it will become less stark in the very last blending session...
I now use Burnt Ochre to create the shadows in the very darkest shaded areas...
I go back to Peach and use that to blend in the Burnt Ochre around the edges...
Lastly, I use Light Peach all over the face in light circular motions to blend all the colours together. Here is a picture of the finished coloured version...

I had so much fun playing with Jay Jay''s glitter technique. I usually use stickles because they are less messy. I think I am in love!! It wasn't near as bad as I thought it would be either. ;) I used the new C.C.Designs Swiss Pixie Ima Butterfly stamp with the matching Spring Logos set.
I also used the no black line method of stamping. This is a first for me and took me quite a bit of time to get it the way I wanted it to look. I will definitely be practicing so I can use this again. I love how it looks hand drawn.
