I am so excited to announce we have added a new Illustrator to the C.C. Designs family.

Meet Heather Rolin-

 "Hi...I'm Heather Rolin...I live in a small town in central MN with my hubby Michael and my sons Lance who is almost 3, and a fresh baby named Adam. (My husband gets a kick out of me using the word fresh to refer to new babies...

I Started out quilting, then turned to painting/drawing and stamping. Eventually my passion for drawing turned into me drawing on my cards and turning images in my head into stamps for everyone to use. When an idea hits me, I hope to get it out of my head and that it fits into someone else's stamp collection...

Besides stamping/illustrating, I love anything to do with sports (besides baseball) or the great outdoors. Living where I live, wildlife is all around and brings many new adventures with Family and Friends."

Inspiration: Lots of things inspire me—the stamp, the patterned paper, a photograph, a blog post.

 

Personal Style: I think style evolves as your skills grow. I couldn’t tell you what my style is currently because I still feel like a baby-stamper. Ask me again in a year.

And last but certainly not least here are two more samples by Mary Dawn:

 

Mary Dawn did an excellent job of masking and creating a scene using the Autumn Trevor, Pumpkin Emma and Fence stamps. I love how she added the sentiment and had it hanging off the edge of the card too!

And here again she masked the pumpkin stamps perfectly and used just those with the fence stamp and another sentiment to create a quick and simple card. Not coloring the fence just makes the pumpkins POP!

Wednesday Challenge ~ Backpack box

Today the challenge is to make a backpack box.  You can find the instructions here<----------.  Don't be intimidated, cause they are really simple.  Just follow the step by step instructions and then decorate it.  It is a fun and a cute way to package a goodie.  When you upload your creation, please use the keyword ATSDTC64.  Have fun and don't forget, Amy is always looking for guest designers. ;)  The next one could be you!

But first off here are a few more Q&A's:

Do you listen to music while crafting? What is your favourite song/album to listen to? 

I usually craft in the quiet since my crafting area is in my bedroom and my husband works the graveyard shift; when I’ve got free time to craft (which has become more frequently with Caitlin starting Kindergarten this year) he’s usually snoring on the other side of the room. But when I do listen to music, I just put my player on shuffle.

 

Describe your workspace:  I have a corner in the master bedroom with my own alcove and closet. My table and computer desk are set up in an “L” configuration since I use my Silhouette craft cutter frequently. Recently we “downgraded” from a king to a full sized bed and I moved my cutting table across the room and expanded some of my storage. I keep promising pictures on my blog, but its NEVER cleaned up.

 

Can’t live without: High quality cardstock for my card bases. I just don’t consider my cards “finished” if they aren’t on a sturdy card base.

I adore this Swiss Pixie Pippi image - and he way Mary Dawn has colored her and added the glitter is just perfect!

Her use of the sentiment from the Autumn Sentiments set along with another little piece of bling is the perfect touch as well!!

Favourite CC Designs stamp: Emma …but those Swiss Pixies just might replace her.

 

Last purchase: I bought 3 colors of distress inks today and some chunky white glitter (among other things, Michael’s had a 20% off everything coupon this weekend!).

 

Favourite snack/beverage while crafting: My crafting area (which Caitlin calls my “Crap Studio”, not because she thinks it’s filled with crap but because she can’t pronounce craft just right yet, hee) is located in a corner of my bedroom, therefore the only thing that I allow in here is water.

Now for the samples!

I just LOVE the neutrals on this card - and then all the bright colors on the main image! It makes it POP right at you! And I love that Pumpkin Emma is cut out like that - a neat touch!

I also love how the sentiment is stamped on an angle and the rhinestones added under it - brings attention to it and I just love little details like that!

And how CUTE is this Apple Emma card?? This is just perfect for any teacher!

I love how the sentiments are attached to the ribbon and I love that she stamped the apples that are included with the Apple Emma image onto the card base.
